Why Hockey Shouldn't Fall Out Of The Radar

As the years roll by, hockey hasn't been keeping up as well as other sports like basketball and baseball. Well at least in America that is. Hockey, apparently, is the most popular sport in Canada, Finland, and Sweden. How then, can we compete against countries that love Hockey so much in competitions? Or even in the Olympics?

Hockey is a sport that has stood the test of time and Americans too should develop their talents to remain a force to be reckoned with in the world of hockey. Each and every person who loves or has an affinity to hockey can truly say that it shouldn't fall out of the sports radars. There are a million reasons out there as to why it shouldn't, in this article, we can start with a few reasons why.

1. America should be competitive enough against other countries even in hockey.

Besides being the most powerful nation in the world, America regardless of what sport it may be, should be a competitive country. Hockey shouldn't be any different from basketball, baseball, American football or even golf. America, having a really large athlete population, should invest in hockey as well.

Perhaps the draw back of hockey is that this is a really expensive sport and it isn't being followed much by many people in America. Sure there have been movies about hockey, like the Mighty Ducks. It was a nice, feel-good movie right? It may have even inspired a lot of people to have second thoughts about why they don't like hockey.

Hockey is an exciting and fast paced game. A fight or two even gets thrown in on a few games. It's a real sport and the people who play them are truly talented, possessing such skills like quickness, strength, and alertness.

2. If it loses more popularity, less and less people would have a liking to hockey.

With hockey already struggling for its place for fame in American sports, it's important that hockey should be played more by people of all ages. Ice hockey, to be more exact, is a really fun game once you've gotten to see it.

Besides this, hockey also requires you to learn how to skate. You're learning two different skill sets for the price of one actually. It just doesn't add up as to why ice hockey can't compete with basketball and American football. It's almost as exciting, and the drama believe it or not, is all in a hockey game too.

You don't have to watch a professional game, you can even just watch your son or your nephew playing during a school meet or whatever and wherever it is they play ice hockey on. Hockey is an awesome sport.

We suggest you learn to like it if you have an affinity for ice skating, sticks, and pucks. Besides, hockey games are also fun to watch. So ask a friend out to a hockey game, buy some tickets. Have a ball, especially when it's your first time watching a live hockey game.
